Аннотация

В книге на основе использования широкого круга архивных источников, материалов периодической печати и специальной литературы впервые в обобщенном виде освещается организация и развитие науки в Армянской ССР в годы Великой Отечественной войны 1941-1945гг.

Рассмотрен процесс перестройки работы научно-исследовательских учреждений, вузов и отдельных ученых в условиях войны, их вклад в оборону и народное хозяйство, патриотическое воспитание народа, в достижение Победы. Прослеживается история создания и деятельности центра научной мысли Армении - Академии наук АрмССР.

Во второй части исследования публикуются документы и материалы об организации науки в нашей республике в годы войны в ряде областей естественных, технических и гуманитарных наук.

Рассчитана на историков науки и широкий круг читателей.

SCIENCE IN ARMENIA DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR (1941-1945)/ STEPAN GHARIBJANIAN SUMMARY

With the begining of the war scientific-research institutions and universities of Armenian Sotialist Republic were rapidly put on a war footing. Dispite wartime difficulties, Armenia continued to develop scientifically. There has been a tremen-dous revival of the science. The industrial facilities built during the war include a lot of great works. The leading place took creation of war patriotic and historic works, publications of many great scientists and cultural workers which let to discover heroic past of Armenian people its sublime creative legacy. The Armenian Branch of Science Academy, the centre of scientific mind of the republic (founded in 1935) did serious researches the aim of which was the mobilization of nature resources and productive forcse if the defense of the country, which helped largely the front, needed it.

On November 10,1943 on the very climax of the War the representative of the Armenian Soviet Union decided the following, taking into consideration the large development of the nets of the institutions of science research in Armenian during Soviet Government, the increase of high-qualified personnel of science workers, their effective work for the development of the economy and culture of the Arme¬nian Soviet Union and the fortification of the defence of the country:" 1 To organize Science Academy of the Armenian Soviet Union in the capital of Armenian, Yerevan, the aim which is to unite the leadership of the institutions of science - researches of the republic in one leader science centre with the interest of further, more purposeful development of science work on the basis of the Armenian branch of Science Acad-emy. 2. To define the real members of the first personnal of Science Academy of the Armenian Soviet Union. These members should be 23".The first president of Sci¬ence Academy was an outstanding scientist orientalist and academician Joseph Orbeli who played a great role in the organization and development of science in Armenia. The foundation of the Republic Academy was of great public and scien¬tific - cultural importance, it enlarged the scales, the level and deepening of science researches, it contributed largely to found new institutions and to increase the quantity of members in scientific personnel. At the end of 1945 there were already 692 members in the 38 institutions of Science Academy of the Armenian Soviet Union, including 32 academicians and member-correspondents, 43 doctors and 154 candidates of science, 130 senior and 151 junior collaborators of science, 84 gradu¬ates and 182 scientific-technical workers. Armenian scientists as the whole armenian people, make their valuable contribution to fascism crushing, giving all their might and knowledge as a sacrifice for the Great Victory.
