Аннотация
The article is devoted to outstanding role of representatives of the Lazarev and Abamelek-Lazarev families in the history of Russian-Armenian relations and the contribution in their development and filling with specific historical and cultural content. After moving to Russia in the middle of the XVIII century, they quickly got their bearings in the Russian economic realities, received titles and social status. They used their wealth and proximity to the Court for patriotic and humanitarian purposes. They created an advanced educational institution for its time, which played a great role in the development of education and enlightenment.
