This commemorative coin is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia. It is devoted to the 100 anniversary of Hovhannes Baghramyan well known Armenian Military Commander. H. Baghramyan - Marshal of the USSR, as well as holder of supreme awards and medals of several countries, began his military service in 1915. In 1918 he fought in Sardarabat battle- the most decisive battle in the history of the Armenian people. H. Baghramyan took part in civil fights in Armenia and Georgia and during the Second World War (1941-1945) he made a major contribution to the Nazi defeat. Further till the end of his life he held high positions in the system of armed forces. [1]
