Advanced Social Technologies (AST), an independent center for sociological research and social engineering, was founded in 2001 by a group of graduates of the Department of Sociology of Yerevan State University. Within the sociological research component, AST has carried out a number of qualitative and quantitative researches covering topics of social and economic development, democratization and human rights.
