On June 23, 1940 the church was consecrated and re-named Saints Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church. As is the custom in Armenian churches, Mrs. Mary Markarian became the Godmother of the church. In three short years, the mortgage was completely paid and all debt obliterated. This was accomplished because of the moral and financial support of the parishioners. The entire interior of the church was completely renovated by the artisans of the parish to appear as it does today. | On June 23, 1940 the church was consecrated and re-named Saints Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church. История
In 1938 a committee was formed to search for a church site. The committee headed by Artacky Berberian had the following members: Rev. Hoosig Nakhnikian, Harootune Avakian, Kevork Kojian, Nishan Pashalian, Garabed Khimatian, Manoog Atamian, and Diran Ashodian.
After an extensive search, the committee found the St. James Episcopal
Church located at 402 Broadway as a suitable site. At a membership meeting held on October 30, 1939, the assembly voted to purchase St. James Church. The church which built around 1890, was purchased and named All Saints Church.
