Type: Single Nave Church with four bays Location: Eight miles from Artik Date: IV-V c. Evidence for date: the basis of evidence for date was architectural design. Important details: until 1948 the church was named Sirvajuk and acoording to the use of unpolished stones it may have originally been a pagan temple. State of preservation: Rather well preserved despite the roof, which has fallen in. Reconstruction: Summary:The church with its single nave four bay plan is believed to be an earlier pagan temple. Not much information is gathered but inscriptions found on the north side appear to be in a different language and a rather 10th century inscription. The single rectangular church had a vaulted roof, which has collapsed. The east apse does not fit the 4th century plans but is believed to be added in the 5th century. Many renovations occurred within the church including some in the 7th and 10th century to add windows. 12th and 13th century Khatchkars are amidst the cemetery next to the church.
