AVAGYAN GEVORG
GEVORG AVAGYAN (1922), is a well listed Armenian artist, born in Alexandrapol, studied art at Yerevan's Art College from 1938 till 1941, afterwards joined the army at World War II, only to graduate from The Art & Theatric Institute in 1955.
A Soviet realist and historic theme painter, some of his paintings decorate the cultural club in Etchmiadzin, in Artashat and in Ashtarak, all in Armenia, others are spread in the State Museums of the Former Soviet Union. YEGHEGNADZOR in southern Armenia , excuted in 1986, is oil on canvas, measures 60 x 50 CM (23 1/2 x 19 1/2 inches). Signed and dated by the artist.
Геворг Авагян. Широко известный армянский художник, родился в Александрополе, с 1938 по 1941 год обучался в ереванском колледже искусств. В 1941 ушел на фронт. Советский художник реалист. Некоторые из его работ украшают так называемый культурный клуб в Эчмиадзине. Его работы присутствуют повсеместно в Армении, и не только в Армении, но и в государственных музеях бывшего союза.
