The Armenian Young Lawyers Association (AYLA) was formed in Yerevan in February, 1995, by a group of students and young lawyers of Yerevan State University Faculty of Law and was registered at the RA Ministry of Justice (MJ) on March 14 of the same year as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The mission of AYLA
To unite and direct the efforts and potential of the members and supporters of the Organization to facilitate the strengthening and the power of the Republic of Armenia as a sovereign, social democratic state governed by the rule of law; To facilitate the raise of population's awareness of legal issues and the level of legal culture through dissemination of information on laws and legal knowledge among the general public; To facilitate the development of jurisprudence, the study and improvement of RA legislation; To facilitate the implementation of judicial reforms in the Republic of Armenia; To facilitate the protection of human rights and formation of a civil society in the Republic of Armenia; To protect the rights of socially vulnerable strata, invalids, refugees, retired military servicemen, those undergoing military service, young people; To organize and provide legal assistance to legal entities and natural persons in accordance with the RA legislation; To facilitate the development of economy based on free market relations, particularly to facilitate the raise of the level of legal knowledge of entrepreneurs and businessmen engaged in small and middle business, to provide legal service to commercial legal entities in accordance with the law; To promote the improvement of the quality and efficacy of legal education in law schools and the growth of the educational and scientific standard of law students and young lawyers organizing training courses, seminars, conferences, competitions and other meetings for them; To promote young lawyers to find jobs in accordance with their profession; To facilitate the revival, preservation, study and dissemination of the historical legal values of the Armenian nation; To co-operate with lawyers and legal organizations in Diaspora and abroad; To facilitate the extending and development of co-operation with non-governmental organizations.
