The Association was founded in 1947 in Beirut, Lebanon and is named after the famous Armenian poet Vahan Tekeyan. The TCA operates in 17 countries with chapters, cultural and social Centers, schools, weekly and periodical newspapers, radio and TV programs.

In 1991, during the first days of the Independence of Armenia, the TCA established itself in the Motherland, and in a short time intellectuals and dedicated Armenians joined the new organization.

The Tekeyan Cultural Association Inc. of USA and Canada was formed in 1969 and is located in Watertown, Massachusetts, USA.

The Organization is a non profit (501) (C) 3 tax-exempt Corporation. Any gifts to the Organization are deductible for income, gift and estate tax purposes.

The Tekeyan Cultural Association (TCA) "actively involved in the cultivation of young minds - our greatest resource." The purpose of the Tekeyan Cultural Association

Vahan Tekeyan (1878-1945)

To own, maintain, operate and render support to courses of study, schools, universities and other institutions of learning, wherever located, engaged, in whole or in part, in teaching Armenian studies, language, religion, literature, history, music, arts, folklore and related fields (herein "Armenian Culture", which expression shall include all or any aspects of the foregoing).

To provide scholarships, scholarships loans and other forms of financial aid to students pursuing Armenian Culture or to persons studying or training to serve as teachers in schools offering Armenian Culture, or any aspect thereof, and as clergymen of the Armenian Church.

To conduct, foster, promote and subsidize cultural and civic activities primarily affecting or for the benefit of persons of Armenian ancestry, including, without implied limitation, in connection therewith, to acquire, own, maintain and operate youth centers and cultural centers.

To organize, conduct, sponsor, subsidize and promote lectures, seminars and cultural projects related to Armenian Culture, including without implied limitation, cultural exchanges of lectures, teachers, artists, musicians, scientists and scholars.

To provide financial assistance, grants and commissions to authors, editors, scholars, artists, composers, musicians, students and instructors of Armenian ancestry or involved in any aspect of Armenian Culture.

To foster, commission and subsidize the translation of Armenian literary, historical and other works into English and other languages; to publish and disseminate such works and to publish and disseminate works of art and music by persons of Armenian ancestry or related in any way to Armenian Culture.

To own, maintain, operate, publish, disseminate assist and subsidize publication of newspapers, magazines, periodicals and other publications in the Armenian or other languages relating directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, to Armenian Culture or matters of concern or interest to persons of Armenian ancestry.Tekeyan Cultural Association Address: 9433 Washington Rd, Morton Grove, IL 60053, USA
