Ara Bekarian

  Ara Bekarian was born in 1913 in Karahissar (now Turkey).  In 1939, he graduated from the Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture in Leningrad.  He has participated in countless exhibitions.  In 1965, he was named the People's Artist of Armenia.  He died in 1986 in Yerevan.
