Карлен Овсепян. (1929-2002) Член союза художников бывшего СССР, родился 22 мая 1929 года в живописной горной деревушке Румис в Армении. После получения среднего образования в Ереване, его направили на учебу в колледж искусств Терлемзяна, который он блестяще закончил в 1952 году. Впоследствии обучался в престижном институте изящных искусств до 1958 года. В 1953 занял первое место на выставке молодых армянских художников, а 1964 году специальный диплом на всесоюзной выставке молодых художников, проводимой в Москве. Овсепян выставлялся на многочисленных национальных и транснациональных выставках, получая широкую известность в европейских художественных кругах. Его картины присутствуют в разных музеях и частных коллекциях Москвы, Санкт-Петербурга, Минска, Киева, Еревана. В 1989 году Овсепян принял участие в международной выставке проводимой в Люксембурге, где выставил 3 свои работы, 2 из которых были приобретены городским муниципалитетом для своей галереи искусств. В 1980 году его ереванская выставка, посвященная Уильяму Сарояну, имела оглушительный успех и в 1989 году гастролировала в Лос-Анджелесе, Фресно, Сан-Франциско.
KARLEN HOVSEPYAN (1929-2002) was a senior member of the Artist's Union of the former USSR, born on May 22, 1929 in the picturesque mountin village of Rumis in Armenia. After receiving his secondary education in Yerevan, he was selected to study at the Terlemezyan Art College, graduating with honors in 1952. He was subsequently accepted for advanced study at the prestigious Institute of Fine Arts untill 1958. Along the way, in 1953, Hovsepyan received the first place award at the exhibition of the young Armenian artists and in 1964 the Special Diploma at the All Union(USSR) Young Artists exhibition held in Moscow. This honor led to the organization of his one-man show at Yerevan's Artists Union Hall in 1969. Hovsepyan has exhibited in numerous national and transnational exhibitions receiving wider recognition in Eastern European art circles. His paintings hang in various museums and private collections of the republics of the former Soviet Union, including those in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Kiev and Yerevan. In 1989 Karlen Hovsepyan participated in the International fair held in Luxembourg with three paintings. Two of his works were obtained by the City Municipality for its Art Gallery. In 1980 his Yerevan exhibition dedicated to William Saroyan was a smashing success and in 1989 it toured in Los Angeles, Fresno and San Francisco.
