History

The relatively small Armenian community in the highly industrialized town of Hamilton has grown slowly since the early 1900’s. In 1975 Bishop Aris Shirvanian, then Vicar General, gradually organized the parish of 19 dues-paying members and celebrated the Divine Liturgy once a monthin St. Thomas Anglican Church. The membership grew to 50 in two years, a Ladies’ Auxiliary, a choir, a one day school for teaching Armenian, a Sunday School and a cultural committee were established and in 1985 it was decided to look for a private church. The Coronation Park church was purchased in 1989, and consecrated by Archbishop Vazken Keshishian, Primate. The church building was renovated in 2002. The current pastor is Rev. Fr.
