Sourb (Saint) Sarkis Church (Tashir)
S.Sarkis is the biggest church in the region of Tashir (previously-Kalinino) that has ever been built there. It was built by two Armenian benefactor-brothers - Karen and Samvel Karapetyan. The church was opened on October 3, 2000.
This newly built church building fascinates with it absolute and unique features, and with the synthesis of the new and the old.
It is seen nearly from all sides of the town. Sourb Sarkis church is extraordinary with its gist and it differs from old Armenian churches built about hundred years ago in our towns, cities and villages with its partial manifestation of the newly born Armenia, i.e. it doesn't comprise the sorrow of typical Armenian churches.
