Перу признанного ученого-фольклориста принадлежит статья об Армении в четырехтомной энциклопедии «Мировой фольклор и народная жизнь» (на английском). Здесь армянский фольклор представлен шедеврами, сохраненными Хоренаци, эпосом «Давид Сасунский» и другими произведениями, среди которых есть и проходящая красной нитью через все исследования автора тема Геноцида. За этот содержательный очерк армянского фольклора, Американский биографический институт присвоил В. Свазлян звание «Великие Умы 21 века» (The Great Mind of the 21st Century) с награждением медалью.
