}} Advanced Social Technologies (AST), an independent center for sociological research and social engineering, was founded in 2001 by a group of graduates of the Department of Sociology of Yerevan State University. Within the sociological research component, AST has carried out a number of qualitative and quantitative researches covering topics of social and economic development, democratization and human rights. Social engineering component includes design and implementation of practical projects, such as training courses, awareness raising campaigns and targeted small scale community development initiatives, to address the key needs and problems revealed during the studies.
