Kzartmyan Vigen
Kzartmyan, Vigen Кзартмян Виген (b. December 10, 1979, Yerevan). Armenian composer, now resident in Austria, of mostly orchestral and chamber works that have been performed in Europe; he is also active as a pianist.
Mr. Kzartmyan began piano studies at age seven at the S. Yerbashyan School and later studied composition with Martun Israyelyan at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory from 1996-2000. Since 2000, he has studied with Dietmar Schermann at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna.
He has earned numerous honors, including First Prize in the Armenian State Composers Competition (1996).
From 1996-2000, while at the conservatory, he also worked as an arranger at the Metro Theatre and the State Chamber Theatre and toured with both. As a pianist, he has given solo recitals in Armenia, Austria, Georgia, and Russia.
