The opening was chaired by His Holiness Catholicos Khoren I and overseen by His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II Coadjutor Catholicos. The aim of this Department was to make the Armenian Church faithful communicate closely with the spiritual and cultural inheritance of their Church. Rev. Fr. Gaurun Babian was chosen to be the first director of the Department. Later, the directors consecutively became V. Rev. Fr. Oshagan Tcholoyan, V. Rev. Fr. Sebouh Sarkissian, Archbishop Zareh Aznavorian (1984| имя-April 2004). Currently the director of the department is Rev. Fr. The Armenian Church was also invited to this conference. His Holiness Sahag I appoints H.G. Papken Gulesserian to represent the Catholicosate of Cilica at this Conference.3 – несохранившиеся церкви --->| состояние =V Rev Fr Ardavazt Sourmelian and Rev Fr Theonisius Drezian accompanies Bishop Gulesserian to this conference to represent the Catholicosate of Cilicia and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. At this conference| епархия, it is decided to establish Sunday Schools under the auspices of the Armenian Church. Mr. Levon Zenian is appointed Director for the realization of this task. He immediately starts training teachers and preparing plans, and the Sunday School begins its educational mission.
