Депутат Национального Собрания RA
Родилась 12 апреля 1954 г. в с. Сарухан района им. Камо.
Окончила факультет прикладной математики (1975) и юридический факультет (1994) Ереванского государственного университета, в 1989 г. Академию общественных наук при ЦК КПСС. Математик. Юрист. Политолог. Кандидат юридических наук, доцент. Профессор Гаварского государственного университета. Награждена орденом Дружбы народов (1986). Автор двух книг и 26 научных статей.
25 мая 2003 г. избрана депутатом НС от избирательного округа N32. Председатель Постоянной комиссии по вопросам науки, образования, культуры и молодежи НС. С 2004 г. руководитель делегации НС РА в Межпарламентском союзе, член Координационного комитета женщин-парламентариев Межпарламентского союза. Член фракции РПА. Беспартийная.

Hranoush Hakobyan was born on April 12, 1954 in the village of Saroukhan in the Gavar region.
Ms. Hakobyan graduated from the Department of Applied Mathematics of Yerevan State University in 1975 and from the Law Department in 1994. In 1989 she graduated from the Academy of Social Sciences under the SUCP Central Committee. She is a mathematician, lawyer, political scientist, Legal Sciences PhD and docent. She is a professor at Gavar State University. She was awarded a Nations' Friendship Order in 1986. She is an author of 2 monographs and 26 scientific articles.
On May 25, 2003 she was reelected to the NA from electoral district # 32 and she is the Chairperson of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs. In 1996 she was a member of the NA Inter-Parliamentary Union delegation, a member of the Coordination Committee for Women's Problems, since 2004 she is the head of the NA delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the president of the Armenian Women's International Association and a co-president of Women's Health Protection Association. She was also a member of the boards of Yerevan, Cambridge-Yerevan, co-president of the Board of the Armenian-American Health Center. From 1995-1997 she was the deputy chairperson of the Committee on Social Affairs of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly.
