His most often published photograph was that of Parliament Hill from the Ottawa River, shown on the old paper $1.00 note. His time-exposure photographs of growing flowers are now considered scientific treasures, while the volumes he published of spectacular Canadian and Ottawa landscapes are to be seen in many homes and all libraries. His remarkable contribution to the national capital was the annual Tulip Festival, bringing thousands of tourists every year. It started with his regular visits to Holland, to capture beautiful tulips in various colours, with his photographic lense.
