Биография
Родился 22 октября 1938 года в Лидсе, Великобритания.
Является ведущим ученым армянских исследований во многих областях, но особенно заметно в области ранней иудейской и христианской литературы и Старого Завета.
Стоун получил степень бакалавра в Университете Мельбурна в 1960 году. С 1966 года он сыграл важную роль в создании «Armenian Studies Program» в Еврейском университете в Иерусалиме, как одного из ведущих в мире центров армянских исследований.
В течение многих лет был профессором армянских исследований и профессором религиоведения.
