Биография
Родился в 1953 году. Professor School of Electrical and Information Engineering The University of Sydney, Australia Professor Minasian holds position as the Director of the Fibre-optics and Photonics Laboratory (FPL), and has also served as the Head of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering at The University of Sydney, Australia. He received the B.E. degree from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia, the MSc degree from the University of London, University College, London, U.K., and the PhD from The University of Melbourne, Australia. He is currently a Chair Professor with the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, The University of Sydney, Australia. His research encompasses optical signal processing and telecommunications, and currently centers on photonic signal processing, microwave photonics, broadband optical communications, and optical phased arrays. Professor Minasian has authored 291 research publications in these areas. In 2011 he was recognized as an author of one of the top 1% most highly cited papers in his field worldwide. He also holds several patents. He has held grants from the Australian Research Council continuously over many years. He is an Associate Editor of Optical Fiber Technology, and has frequently delivered invited papers at premier international conferences. Professor Minasian is a Fellow of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, USA), and is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Australia. He has served on the Australian Research Council as a member of the College of Experts. Currently he is appointed by the Commonwealth and the Australian Research Council to the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) initiative to assess research quality excellence in Australia. He is a member of the Technical Committee on Microwave Photonics of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (IEEE MTTS). He was the recipient of the ATERB Medal for Outstanding Investigator in Telecommunications, awarded by the Australian Telecommunications and Electronics Research Board. Professor Minasian was elected in 2011 a foreign academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia.
