Гаянэ, а почему у вас ангел - слепой?
А ангел слеп. У него другое зрение, он видит иначе, не как мы... Когда я была маленькая, меня водили в Муштаид. Там играла слепая девочка. Это была дочь директора Муштаида. Потом их уже не было, наверное, куда-то уехали. И эту слепую девочку я рисую всю жизнь. И этот слепой ангел - это тоже она.

Biography:
My parents:
Father – Levon Manuk Khachaturyan (born in Yerevan, in 1898).
Mother – Hasmik Jacob Qalantaryan (born in Agulis, Nakhichevan Republic, in 1904).
In 1921 they moved to Tbilisi with their one-year-old son. At 12:00 am, on 8-9th of May, 1942 I was born.
I started to paint by the age of 12.
From 1955 to 1959, simultaneously with the secondary school, I have studied at the artistic school of children (pedagogue – Guguli Kurdiani) by the specialized artistic school after Y. Nikoladze.
Starting from 1954 I have met with a number of outstanding individuals, such as Y. Qochar, A. Bazhbeuk-Melikyan, Y. Akhvlediani, S. Parajanov, H. Igityan, M. Avetisyan, B. Galstyan, G. Grigoryan (Jotto), L. Anokhin, A. Tarkovski, B. Akhmadulina, T. Guerra, A. Demidova, M. Barseghyan, L. Oulitskaya.
My works are in the Modern Art Museum (Yerevan), as well as in numerous collections in many countries
Exhibits:
In 1968 my works were demonstrated in the editorial office of the “Decorative Art” magazine, Moscow.
1971 – a personal exhibition in the House of Artists as well as in the House of Scientists of the Institute of physics, Yerevan.
1972 – a personal exhibition in the House of Actor after A. Khorava, Tbilisi.
1978 – I was among the exhibitors of the Modern Art Museum, Yerevan.
On the initiative of Henrik Igityan my works were sent to Portugal, where they were selected for further demonstration in Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
Two films were shot in the film studio “Armenfilm”, namely:
1971 – “Gayane” by Yuri Yerznkyan, with an introduction of Martiros Saryan.
1978 – “Blue wind, a smell of almonds” by Ruben Gevorkyan.
In 1989 - “Islands” by Levon Grigoryan was shot in Moscow.
1995 – An exhibition in France (Lyon, Marseille) and in Germany (Bochum).
2001 – A personal exhibition in Moscow
