An outstanding feature of the 13th century Khorakert Monastery complex is a cross-like church of original design, its dome composed of thirty closely fitted hexahedral columns. Shortly following its dedication, an attempt was made to fill the gaps between these columns with stones. These fell away, and the dome regained its original airy appearance. In the west there is a gavit built in 1257.
