Закончил Университет Тулейн и Стэнфордский университет.
Президент группы «Евразия», старший научный сотрудник Института мировой политики.
Является доктором политических наук Стэнфордского университета, также преподает в таких научных заведениях как Институт Гарримана, Институт Гувера и других.
Я.Бреммер - признанный на Западе эксперт в области американской внешней политики, развития евразийских государств и глобальных политических рисков.
